Siblings Aubry and Kale Walch, former Guam residents, opened the first meatless butcher shop in the United States in January. Located in Minneapolis, the Herbivorous Butcher offers items found in traditional butcher shops or delis, such as bologna, pastrami, pork chops, sausage and cheeses, made with specially prepared vegan substitutes.

The Walches and the Herbivorous Butcher have drawn international attention from media outlets, including National Public Radio, New York Times, Huffington Post, the BBC and Telegraph.
