Musical artist Dåkot-ta Alcantara-Camacho launched his first full-length album, Na’Lå’La’, which means “give life,” in January in New Zealand. The album combines Chamorro chants and hip-hop and features tracks that started as prayers but turned into songs and other pieces meant for a hip-hop theater performance created for the Festival of Pacific Arts held May 22 to June 4, 2016 on Guam.

Na'la-'la' ALBUM COVER2

Alcantara-Camacho has shared his previous work in Hawaii, Australia and New Zealand through the grassroots interdisciplinary performance project called I Moving Lab, of which Alcantara-Camacho is the founder. He is also the co-founder of Matao New Performance Project, a contemporary multi-arts performance organization inspired by Chamorro knowledge, stories and community. The album is available for pre-order at www.infinitedakota.com.
