How would you describe your purchasing habits when you shop for food and drink for you and your family?

The Last Word

Arenovski

“Now that our daughters are both out of the house, we purchase in smaller quantities for food and drink. And we try to eat more salads so that makes additional trips to the store, but well worth the extra effort. Also, we eat out — often.”

Jill M. Arenovski
Executive director, Saipan Chamber of Commerce

Perez

“I usually go [grocery shopping] on weekends. First, I check the vegetables and fruits section and then get some meat. I need to go get eggs, cheese and heavy cream too. I usually buy fresh products only if I go to the store by myself … but with my boys, I always end up buying some candies.”

Mai Mimura Perez
Customer service and marketing manager, Tumon Sands Plaza

Hawes

“I shop on a daily basis. Usually when I am hungry, but sometimes I miss lunch and breakfast. Coffee is
a must.”

Richard Hawes

Borja

“As a family of seven, our spending habits hinge on several factors: budget, availability of product at the stores or whether mom and dad are busier than usual (this means kids get to eat out more with increased impulsive spending). But overall, we try to play it smart with bulk purchases every two weeks.”

Marissa E. Borja
Marketing communications and public relations manager, Dusit Thani Guam Resort

Daniel

“With just two of us at home, my trips to the grocery store are only as-needed, lots of times based on cravings and easily swayed by nice packaging.”

Danny L. Daniel
Senior manager of brand and public relations, IT&E

Walls

“We like trying anything new at least once, so I prefer to buy it by the packet as we never know. I am into marketing on the outside, but the inside has to also pass the test. Once proven, I am buying it by the case and we lock it in for the month. Right now, our bulk shelf is bare as we look for the next big hit.”
