The Lyon Art Foundation announced the winners of its third Sandbox Video Contest for June. The contest is open to students ages 6 to 18. Winners are selected based on creativity in storytelling, visual content and audio. The theme for the contest was “community.” Landon Mauricio was the first place winner. Mauricio was awarded $500 for his video depicting the efforts of the community to rebuild the home the Rodillas, an Oahu family with eight children that, after a period of homelessness, returned to their home to find it in disrepair. Close to 100 people assisted in the effort. Second and third place went to Roget Neo Alabastro and Ciara Ratum, who were awarded $100 and $50, respectively.
