Taiguini Books of University of Guam Press released its second in a series of four Chamorro language children’s books. “I Malinguna Påtgon,” or “The Lost Child,” was launched on May 7.

“I Malinguna Påtgon,” written by Rufina Fejeran Mendiola and illustrated by Joseph Flores Sablan, tells the story of a young girl named Bella who feels like she has been forgotten by her large and very busy family. She finds friendship and love in her garden. Written entirely in Chamorro and utilizing colorful illustrations, the book depicts key Chamorro values, particularly the importance of family and working together.
